A brand new, state-of-the-art 3G Pitch will be ready for the new 2026/27 season ⚽ 🏉 🔥

We are delighted to announce that work officially began on this exciting project, week commencing Monday 11th May 2026, which represents a significant milestone for Mounts Bay Academy, MBFDC and the wider community. The redeveloped facility will provide an improved, modern playing surface that will benefit our members, local teams, and future generations for years to come.

What the new facility will include:

🏟 A new playing surface with line markings for 5v5, 7v7, 9v9 and 11v11 football
👥 Designated spectator hard-standing areas in line with the FA Respect campaign
⚽ Brand new professional-standard goals
💡 High-performance floodlighting
📦 Secure goal storage areas & new perimeter fencing
🏉 A World Rugby-compliant shock pad, allowing the pitch to host contact rugby

The new surface will also resolve long-standing drainage and flooding issues, creating a reliable all weather facility that maximises participation, performance and enjoyment (Pictures provided below of previous pitch flooding 🌧️).

All current MBFDC football provision will continue as normal, but temporarily moving to the grass pitches & sports hall (where applicable!) whilst the pitch renovation is underway.
